![]() There have always been new sets of challenges at each level of growth. What type of challenges do you find yourself faced with at this stage in your career? I think the two worlds are getting closer and closer together! I'm not sure I've ever considered myself an artist though I would say some of my soaps are little works of art. Do you consider yourself a maker or an artist? How do you perceive the intersection of these two worlds? You have a product that is subject to a different type of scrutiny, the subjective nature of the art of smell, using food/spices to give your scents a natural type of sweetness. I'm also getting better at asking for help when I need it. It's very easy to get wrapped up in things and before you know it you've been hunched over a laptop for hours without stretching or eating. Recently, I've been working on listening to my body more, forcing myself to stop and take a break. What were some hurdles you've been overcoming? I was feeling incredibly lost at the time but making soap and scrubs gave me purpose and tapped into a creative side of myself I never knew I had. I started making soap and other natural products in my kitchen as a way to escape the drudgery of my office job. How did you start your business/your craft/your art? I met with her in her studio some time ago and had a chance to get the scoop on what Etta + Billie is about and what she geeks out on besides making bath and kitchen products. :) ), to her luscious smelling soaps rich in foody scents perfect for a new housewarming gift. Her product has become part of my assortment, from a new room spray that is safe for babies (that I dare say I helped influence her to produce quicker than she had hoped. Needless to say, Etta + Billie is hard to miss if you live in the Bay Area. However, it's not without saying that I hadn't seen her product in every store around the Bay Area I had been to, including in West Elm's Local editions. With classes for children from 9 months to 7years old, we make every experience memorable and fun.I first met Alana at a trade show in San Francisco. Tiny Artisan hosts 2hr drop off art and play classes, toddler play groups, process art classes, baby and me classes birthday parties, summer camp, mobile art parties, adult craft nights and workshops in our studio and outside locations throughout Hudson, Bergen and Essex County, NJ and NYC. We encourage and inspire our tiny artisans to get creative by exploring the use of different mediums and materials. Our studio provides the perfect environment for children and adults to explore and imagine by creating fun projects. We would wholeheartedly and emphatically recommend them to anyone who's looking for a toddler drop off program!īased in Historic, Downtown Jersey City, Tiny Artisan is a large in imagination process art studio dedicated to promoting creativity, discovery and independent thinking. We feel very lucky to have found them and been able to send him there. And we are confident, comfortable, and excited for him every time we drop him off, knowing that he's having fun and creating fun projects that he's extremely proud of every day. Our son looks forward to going there each morning. They have allowed our son to stay late on more than a few occasions on last minutes notice when we've had some emergencies pop up. They're also extremely professional, sweet, and helpful. Miss Stephenie and her staff are great with the kids and are super nice and fun. And we get to proudly display and show off all of his amazing artwork and crafts around the house, which makes him proud and confident. He gets to color and create and play with all sorts of fun stuff. He always comes home with really creative and amazing arts and crafts. Most importantly though, he has a ton of fun while he's there. They've worked with him on counting, letters, tracing, writing, coloring, spelling his name, painting, etc. ![]() Can't say enough amazing things about Tiny Artisans!!!! Our son started attending their toddler prep drop off program back in September 2021 when he was 2 years and 9 months old, and he's still with them now.
